Since August, the French international footballer has been moving up in Valencia.  A new life that seems to be a particularly successful one for him!

In summer 2012, Geoffrey was only 19 years old when he left Lens to arrive in Spain for the first time. Hardly a few months went by in Seville, and he brilliantly established himself thanks to his body impact combined with his superior technical skills. Then he proceeded to get acquainted with various European championships, by playing two seasons for Monaco and one more for Inter Milan. This last experience was not enough to give him entire satisfaction; so he seized the opportunity to leave to Valencia, loaned by his club with an option of purchase. “I have decided to come here for three reasons,” he explains, “the plan, the greatness of the club, and the feeling I have about the coach”. The climate of this Mediterranean city with plenty of natural green spaces must not be unpleasant to him either.

For the time being however, the bet seems to be a lucky one: Geoffrey seems to have found a setting where he feels at ease and a new challenge for his young career of footballer.

In fact, this young Frenchman is one of the main artists of the astounding start of season that FC Valencia has witnessed under the command of Marcelino Garcia Toral:

9 successes for the first 13 matches of the LIGA, no defeats, 33 goals scored (including 3 by Kondogbia) for 12 conceded only. The club is currently the vice-champion behind Barça, on whose field it shared points on Sunday, 26 November! It is therefore not surprising that the Valencia managers are considering exercising their right to the purchase option, which still links him to Inter Milan, in order to make him sign a four-year contract.

Today, comments coming from sport observers are more than flattering: Geoffrey Kondogbia is on the verge of getting back to the level that brought him all the way to the France National Team (where he was selected five times). And, already, the question is arising, especially six months before the next Football World Cup in Russia: is he going to make a big return to the ranks of the French Team? The answer belongs with Didier Deschamps.
